It All Begins With an Idea!
The Zoo Crew is an online-only group that formed in late March of 2020, the day after everything shut down around the world due to the Coronavirus pandemic. We are not based in any one state, we are worldwide. When the world shut down during the pandemic, the Zoo Crew opened up its virtual doors. We welcome people from across the country and around the world. If you’re all about carrying the message and not the mess then you’re in the right place!
We started with one meeting at 8:15 am EST because the founder’s homegroup met from 7 to 8 am EST. That meeting was initially called AA in the Morning, then we became The Morning Zoo. Why the Morning Zoo? We’re glad you asked! Some local radio DJs around the country call their morning show The Morning Zoo because they have an organized chaos going on during the show. They also want to make a person’s morning commute enjoyable and fun. Our aim was/is the same. We are deadly serious about sobriety but we are not a glum lot and make sobriety fun.
Why get sober if it isn’t fun? If sobriety doesn’t feel good then we’re not doing something right. We want to keep making investments into our IRA, our Individual Recovery Account!
We built up the Original Zoo Crew but in March of 2022 most of the other meetings moved to a different room and now call themselves zoocrew22 but they were originally started by the same person who let them keep all the materials that he created to hold their own meetings in another Zoom room.
We have since rebuilt the Original Zoo (OZ) Crew and are back bigger and better than ever! We have a great community and do many things together outside of Zoom. Join us!
